My journey of recovery started in April 1994, when I went to my first AA meeting at Walton on Thames Surrey, England.
It was a speaker meeting, given by a woman who drank to cope with the pressure of her work.
I could relate and felt comfortable knowing that I was not alone, and quickly found others in a similar situation.
I joined this group and went to many other meetings, in fact, it was suggested I go to 90 meetings in 90 days … which I did.
What I found was the disease of alcoholism was a great leveller and does not discriminate, it affects people from all walks of life!
A disease that tells you don’t have one and waits till the time is right, grabs you and takes you through hell!
Alcohol kills, It will ruin your relationships, take your home and your job!
