I Am An Alcoholic Who Needs Help…
I am an alcoholic who needs help what do you suggest?
Great question.
If you truly want to stop drinking altogether, and you can stand the thought that there is a power greater than yourself, that could relieve you of your alcoholism, then maybe Alcoholics Anonymous is for you?
By acknowledging that you need help, you have taken the most difficult and important step towards your recovery.
Search out the rooms of AA, and get yourself to a meeting. There you will find others like yourself that seek recovery from this disease.
You will get lots of support from the people you will meet. Listen to what they have to say, read the available literature, get a meetings guide and go to as many meetings as you can.

As in all walks of life, you will meet people in AA that you relate to and others you can’t stand, that’s OK.
Whoever they are they all have a story to tell about their recovery, so don’t judge just accept them warts and all.
It may be suggested that you purchase a “Big Book” which will be a great asset on your recovery journey.
It may not be possible for you right now, depending on your circumstances, but you could loan one and in some rooms they are free.
What you will find in this book, as well as the many interesting stories, are steps that you should take.
12 steps in all, which if taken will lead you to a better quality of life and freedom from alcoholism.
Are these steps hard to accomplish?
Some are but if you follow them in a sequence you will get through them.
Just remember it’s not a race take all the time you need.
